MLA Lobo Felicitates Powerlifters Pradeep and Hisrar, Congress Party convention on Sept 25
Mangaluru: “On September 25, at 2:00 pm, the Congress Party workers convention will be held at Town Hall. AICC Secretary and In-charge of Mysuru P C Vishnunath will inaugurate the convention. The district minister in-charge will be the chief guest. We will also observe the second death anniversary of the Congress party worker late Mohammed Badruddin and his family will be invited for the same. We will also honour those who have worked for the party for a long time,” said MLA of South Constituency J R Lobo in a press meet held at the DCC office here on September 22.
Addressing the mediapersons MLA Lobo said, “From 220 Booths 2500 party workers and leaders will take part in the convention. All the MLAs and Ministers will be taking part in the convention. In the convention, we will discuss on how to take the party forward. On September 23, at 9:30 am, we will inaugurate the campaign “Mane Manege Congress” at the Shivabagh Booth. We will visit every house in our constituency and make the people aware of the schemes implemented by the State government. We will hand over pamphlets to every house on the development work done by the Congress government. We will complete visiting all the houses by October 15.”
MLA Lobo also said, “Political parties play an important role in a democracy. If any political party becomes weak, democracy will also suffer. So we need to strengthen our party.”
Later MLA Lobo felicitated Pradeep Kumar who had participated in the Commonwealth competitions in South Africa from September 11 – 17 under the senior 83 kgs category and bagged a gold and 3 silver medals and was awarded the best weightlifter equipped with bench press. Hisrar Pasha from St Aloysius College also participated in the Common Wealth powerlifting junior category under 105 Kgs and bagged 2 gold and a silver medal and was awarded the second best lifter in equipped powerlifting.
