MLA Lobo Interacts with DSIA, Assures to Solve Problems
Mangaluru: MLA J R Lobo visited the industrial area, at Yeyyadi and interacted with the association members here on September 9.
The programme began with welcoming the gathering by the president of DSIA Arun Padiyar. Briefing on the present problems faced by the members of the association, Arun said, “The association is housed in its own premises at the industrial estate, Yeyyadi. DIC, KSSIDC Ltd, MESEDI being located here, this is the center for SSI sectors of the whole district. Presently the association has a well-equipped office, a library block, a leased premises to the local post office and a multi-purpose hall”.
He further said, “The association is now planning to build a Skill Development Centre with full digital facilities to impart skills to entrepreneurs and the educated youth of our district. The rich knowledge and experience of the members of the association will be harnessed actively for the benefit of the country”.
He also said that at present there are some problems which need to be addressed, they are the improper boundary. When the road and drianage work was carried out by the MCC, the land belongs to DSI has been encroached. We are also paying tax and the officers are showing negligence in the development of the DSI area. He urged the MLA to intervene and provide justice as the surveyor too is not doing his job properly. Whenever the surveyor comes, giving the reason “Bushes”, they go back. There is even one Bangera who is not related to MCC nor is a corporator, has been threatening us with consequences.
Association member Sumith Rao speaking on the occasion said that the industrial land is strictly used for the industries and not for private or MCC roads. Even the survey is not being done properly. Earlier, according to the survey, the land was 17. 3 acres, but the present survey shows the land 14.8 acres only. How and where have the nearly 3 acres of land disappeared? The KSSIDC engineer had come thrice without notice and returned giving the reason that it is not possible to survey as the area is filled with bushes. There are guidelines to follow during the survey, such as informing the owner which is not followed. The road in the industrial area has been allotted to someone else, most of the senior officials are involved in corruption. They do whatever they want without listening to us.
When Lobo asked for clarification, KSSIDC Engineer Shafi said that the road has been allotted to private persons because it was a service road.
Lobo said that people do not trust the KSSIDC officers because of such problems. Why then people do not believe you, if you still claim that you have provided everything? Let there be an inquiry, and a report related to this issue be submitted since it is public property.
The owner of Narans’s bread said, “I have paid Rs Rs 9lakh and purchased the property. I did not encroach any land. The association members are blaming me but in reality, I have paid Rs 9 lakh for the land and made the road,”
Lobo said that if Bangera is troubling you can take action against him, he also said to Shafi, to issue a show cause notice to those who have encroached DSI land illegally. When someone pays the bills or tax, MCC is only a recipient and whatever you give, it takes. He also instructed to prepare a DPR of skill development center, so that it will be easier to get the funds.
Secretary DSIA Venkatesh Jeppu, Corporator Roopa D Bangera, Gokul Das and others were also present.
