MLA Moideen Bava Should be Questioned in Deepak Rao murder case – Palemar
Mangaluru: “Bajrang Dal activist Deepak Rao was brutally murdered in Katipalla on January 3 and his body was brought to AJ Hospital for post-mortem. We had decided to take the body on January 4 in a procession from the Hospital to Katipalla. We had also informed all the party workers to gather near the mortuary at 9:00 am, but to our surprise, the body was taken by the police at 7:30 am without our knowledge. When we gathered near the hospital the body was not there and we learnt from the hospital authorities that the body was taken by the police to Katipalla to be handed over to his family members”, said the former district minister in-charge Krishna J Palemar in a press meet held at the BJP office here on January 5.
Addressing the mediapersons Krishna J Palemar said, “The MLA of Mangaluru North Constituency Moideen Bava is misleading the people by saying that the accused in the Deepak murder case belong to the BJP and that his brother and relatives are in the BJP and have worked for me to win the last elections. I deny the allegations made by Bava against me. I don’t have any connection with Pinky Nawaz or his family members. MLA Moideen Bava should be questioned in the Deepak murder case since he is supporting the cattle thieves. When Kabeer died while he was trafficking cows, the other occupants of the vehicle escaped and came to Moideen Bava seeking his help. Moideen Bava is the one who demanded Rs 25 lakh compensation for Kabeer for trafficking cows and the police who had done his duty had to face punishment.”
Krishna J Palemar further said, “In Suratkal after Moideen Bava become the MLA the crime rate has increased. The Police are unable to take action against the traffic rules violators. Suratkal is a Helmet free zone and most of the cars in this area have tinted glass. How many cases have the Suratkal police have filed against vehicles with tinted glass or those riders riding two-wheelers without helmets? Moideen Bava is accusing that Pinky Nawaz had campaigned for me during the last elections which is far from the truth. Can we blame Moideen Bava if his brother who is in the JD(S) does something wrong? We cannot blame the whole family if some support one party and the others support the other party. I strongly deny Pinky Nawaz being a BJP party worker, the BJP workers are not involved in crime. Pinky Nawaz has no connection with the BJP, it is possible that someone may have used him to put the blame on BJP which should be investigated!”.
Addressing the mediapersons Umanath Kotian said, “When Krishna Palemar was the district minister in-charge he treated everyone equally. It was our mistake that we had not succeeded in winning the last elections in Mangaluru North constituency. Now Moideen Bava is putting allegations that Pinky Nawaz had campaigned for Krishna J Palemar in the last elections. Let Moideen Bava prove it or else we will stage a protest in front of his house. The truth should come out and those who are involved should be punished”.
President of Hindu Jagarana Vedike Satyajith Suratkal said, “Bava has the habit of protecting cattle thieves. When Kabeer was killed while trafficking cows, those who were with Kabeer came to Moideen Bava seeking protection. Moideen Bava was the first one to demand compensation of Rs 25 lakh for Kabeer’s family. Every person has the rights and if Pinky Nawaz’s family members are in BJP, there is no need for Pinky Nawaz also to be in the BJP. We don’t have any connection with Pinky Nawaz”.
