Modi Acting like Hitler treating DK Shivakumar as Terrorist – Janardhan Poojary
Mangaluru: “Income Tax sleuths on Wednesday conducted raids at the official residence of Karnataka Power Minister D K Shivakumar and the private resort where 44 Congress lawmakers from Gujarat were staying. When I was the Finance Minister I had managed the Income tax, Customs and Excise department and the Rural development departments for 8 to 9 years. But I did not misuse the department, I had the opportunity to raid but I did not do it. In our district, I did not misuse my power. But today the Narendra Modi Government has misused the power and raided the house of Power minister of Karnataka. The income tax raided 39 places belonging to D K Shivakumar to harass the opposition leaders”, said the senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on August 2.
Addressing the mediapersons Poojary said, “The Income tax department does not belong to any party or a particular person. The raid was conducted along with CRPF which is a part of the military, the Income tax officers have misused the CRPF and put them to shame. After Modi has come to power, he does not want anyone to question him since he thinks that he is a Hitler. Is D K Shivakumar a terrorist? Why has his house been raided? After Modi came to power 1138 places have been raided. How much money have you recovered from the raids? The Income tax officers did not get any money in D K Shivakumar’s house. Without a search warrant, D K Shivakumar’s house was raided. Why did Modi not follow the rules before raiding his house? Modi is acting like Hitler, in the coming elections, people will give him a befitting reply.”
Poojary further said, “When the resort was raided there were 44 other lawmakers but they were not questioned. Modi should know that this is a democratic country. Today Shivakumar, tomorrow Poojary, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Modi is trying to send Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to jail. I am not afraid of any raid nor is D K Shivakumar. But you should have the search warrant to raid a place. Without a search warrant, using the CRPF and conducting a raid on D K Shivakumar’s house is not right. D K Shivakumar has been treated as a terrorist. PM Narendra Modi wants Ahmed Patel to be defeated in the Rajya Sabha elections which is not possible. Ahmed Patel surely will win the elections”.
When asked about Kavya Suicide case Poojary said, “Urgappa is my disciple and he has shown his capacity by taking the officers to task. Even Ugrappa met the parents and assured of doing justice. Now many organizations come forward to protest against the incident. My support is always there with the organization. Poojary is not the only one to take up all the issues, other people from the Poojary community have already started protesting demanding justice.”
When asked about the abusive language used by Minister Ramanath Rai, Poojary said, “Ramanath Rai had called me and the matter has been settled. Ramanath Rai has apologized to me and said that he had never used any abusive words. I have forgiven him if I don’t forgive him I am not a human being”.
