Modi Believes only in politics of ‘Television’ and lacks ‘Vision’ – Jaiveer Shergill

Udupi: Jaiveer Shergill, national media panellist of the Congress on Wednesday, May 2 said that Modi gives only ‘sermons’ and has not offered any ‘solutions’ in the last four years. The electorate of Karnataka knows that the BJP campaign in Karnataka is agendaless, visionless and directionless. Modi is desperately trying to save the sinking boat, loaded with the corruption of Yeddyurappa and Reddy brothers.

Addressing the pressmeet at the Press club he said that Prime minister Modi completed his poll campaign in Udupi where he had praised the banking system. If BJP comes to power in Karnataka, the banking system in Udupi will become the banking system of Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi.

“Modi sounded very concerned about women in Karnataka. BJP is the spokesperson and protector of rapists in this country and is in the business of giving plum positions to those who protect the rapists. If the BJP is elected to power in Karnataka, they will protect those who outrage the modesty of women.”

PM Modi should run an ‘Apology Campaign’ rather than the ‘Election Campaign’ for betraying and backstabbing the people of Karnataka. If he truly has the courage, rather than firing from orchestrated election stages, he should accept the challenge of Rahul Gandhi to debate. But he will not because he knows the debate will be his ‘Jumlebaz’ and Rahul’s will be the ‘Sach ki Awaz’,” he added.

Youth who voted PM Modi & BJP to power in 2014 will ensure BJP’s defeat on May 12, 2018, in Karnataka and in 2019 across the country.

Congress Government in Karnataka under Siddaramaiah has created 15 lakh jobs in the past 5 years. The youth of Karnataka are happy of the increase in job packages and pay scale, whereas in BJP ruled states such as Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana- thousands of highly qualified doctors, engineers and postgraduates are daily queuing up seeking Class IV & Class V jobs. Modi’s Niti Aayog in Feb 2018 itself admitted that India is plagued by ‘unsatisfactory jobs & underemployment’.

The looming job crisis reflects unprecedented & desperate unemployment in the country and can be gauged by the fact that – (a) In Madhya Pradesh- 2,81,000 youth with MBA/LLB/BE/PhD applied for 738 peon posts in Feb 2018. (b) In Maharashtra- 2,00,000 youth with BE/MBA/LLB/MBBS applied for 1137 posts of constables in April 2018. (c) In UP- 23,00,000 youth applied for 386 peon posts. (d) Similarly, for 90,000 Railway Jobs (26,502 posts of assistant loco pilots/technicians & 62,907 posts of Group D, 9.500 posts of RPF) – 2,50,00,000 (2.5 Crore) Youth including PhD/MA/MSc/MPhil applied in Jan 2018.

India needs to create 34.35 Crore jobs until the year 2028 i.e. 3-4 Crore jobs every year, but due to the ‘Faulty and Anti-Youth’ policies of the Modi Govt, India is slated to lose 30 Lakh jobs every year. Visionless Modi’s New Slogan is ‘Make India Jobless’!

RBI’s latest report in Feb 2018 says that in first two years of the Modi Govt (2014-15 & 2015-16), there were massive job losses in 27 sectors of the Economy. In the Agriculture Sector alone, 1.49 Crore jobs were lost. No wonder that Rural distress is at its peak during Modi rule. The same RBI report points out 8% Job Loss in the Construction sector and nearly 3% in Telecommunications. Modiji had promised a ‘Rainfall; of Jobs’, but India witnessed a ‘Job Drought’!

The ‘Vyapam Scam’, ‘SSC Scam’ & multiple ‘Cash-for-Job Scams’ across India have jeopardized the future. Vyapam is perhaps the ‘biggest scam’ in the history of Independent India. Between 2007 to 2013, in BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh nearly 76,76,718 youth were defrauded and duped, those who appeared for 167 different examinations including Pre-Medical & Medical tests. BJP CM, Shivraj Singh Chouhan was the Medical Education Minister at the time. As always the CBI has let go of the ‘Big Fish’.

Narendra Modi will be participating in 8 more rallies in Karnataka in the coming days and we would like to ask the Prime Minister nine questions. The Central Government has not cleared the expansion of Mangaluru Airport plan, even after repeated reminders by the state government and the fact that Mangaluru is witnessing 35% increase in passenger traffic annually.

“Why did the Modi government not release the full amount of the Central government’s share for the third stage expansion of Mangaluru Fisheries Port despite categorical commitment and sanction by the previous UPA government? Why did the Modi government not release the promised Central funds for the construction of fisheries jetty at Kulai ultimately leading to the shelving of the project?”.

In April 2017, Karnataka was given just Rs 1,435.95 crore even though the state suffered the worst drought in the last 45 years. But the BJP-ruled states received a much higher amount for disaster relief with Maharashtra being allocated Rs 8,195 crore, Gujarat Rs 3,894 crore and Rajasthan Rs 2,153 crore. “Why this stepmotherly treatment to the drought-affected Karnataka?” Shergill questioned.

The state government had waived the farmers’ loan to a tune of Rs 8,165 crore, while the Centre waived Rs 2.22 lakh crore loan of the corporates. Due to the Rafale deal, Karnataka incurred a loss of Rs 36,000 crore and the youth face unemployment here. For this, the Modi government should seek an apology from the voters, he said.

The rules for IBPS exams to work in regional rural banks were modified and the exams are now held in English/Hindi and not in Kannada. This move has worked against Kannadigas. The chief minister had written to the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley requesting that the rules be changed to allow candidates to write the paper in Kannada. But there was no response from the Centre.

Why did the Modi government decide to shift the CRPF headquarters to Chandauli in UP from Taralu in Karnataka, though UP already has five CRPF centres? he questioned.

The entire BJP brigade and specifically Modi should give an account of the Central government’s dismal track record and complete neglect of Karnataka, before making any tall promises.”, he said.

Accusing PM Modi of cheating Kannadigas, Jaiveer said that NaMo- a popular acronym for Narendra Modi- meant ‘Namage Mosa’. Modi is the first Prime Minister in the country’s history who has never held a press conference, claiming that he lacks the ability to answer questions that are raised to him. Modi only believes in politics of ‘Television’ and lacks ‘Vision’.

Maharastra congress MLA Suresh Shetty, District Congress president Janardhan Tonse, state Minority commission president M A Gafoor, Congress leader Dinesh Putran, Harish Kini, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor and others were present.
