Modi Govt created Invisible Division between Communities through NRC and CAA – Vinayraj

Mangaluru: “Right to equality given under article 14 of Indian law, means that every person, who lives within territory of India, has equal rights before the law. Under Article 15, Fundamental Rights are guaranteed to all persons by the constitution of India without any discrimination of caste, religion, sex etc. These rights entitle an individual to live life with dignity. Fundamental Rights are meant for promoting the idea of democracy. Recently the Modi government implemented the Citizenship Amendment Act which is against the constitution.  Already 19 lakh people in Assam including 13 lakh Hindus have been excluded from the list of National Register of Citizens. Now to include 13 lakh Hindus to the NRC list, the government has made corrections, at the same time, the only intention of the government is to keep the Muslims out from the National Register of Citizens (NRC). The Modi government has created an invisible division between communities through NRC and CAA”, said the Congress Spokesperson Advocate A C Vinayraj in a press meet held at the DCC office here on December 30.

Addressing the media persons Vinayaraj said, “People from all walks of life have fought in the freedom struggle. This act provides citizenship to Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, Christians and Sikhs from 3 neighbouring countries, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Pakistan saying that as minorities have been persecuted there. If the government has any documents of persecution in these countries let the government release the list. Why are the people from other neighbouring countries like Srilanka, Bhutan, Nepal and Tibet been excluded from NRC? If the government implements the NRC throughout the country, a minimum of Rs 50,000 crores funds are needed to complete the process. To submit the documents all the 130 crore people should stand in a queue and the same situation which happened during the demonetization will repeat”.

Vinayraj further said, “The Central government led by Modi had assured of curbing terrorism,  black money, fake notes through demonetization but now after the demonetization the economy of the country is in danger. Through demonetization, the RBI  received 99% of the currency back into the system. Demonetization was like finding a rat in the rock by digging the mountain.  Likewise, the NRC is also the same. If we will not protest, the country will face severe problems.”

Briefing on NRC Vinayraj said, “Adhar card, PAN card, Service ID, Bank Passbook, Educational certificate, Domicile certificate, Cast certificate etc are not considered as proof of citizenship. If anyone fails to submit the documents, they will be detained and sent to detention centres. The BJP leaders, MPs and MLAs giving anti-muslim statements has created fear among the Muslim community. It is the duty of the Central government to build confidence with the Muslim community. PM Modi is lying to the people of this country saying that NRC will not be implemented all over the country and that the detention camps will not be constructed.  But HM Amit Shah says that the NRC Law is applicable all over the country. The statement from both Modi and Shah has created confusion and led to violence in the country.”

While concluding Vinayraj said, “Being an advocate, I don’t have my father’s birth certificate because he was born in a village and at that time there were no such facilities to keep the records. We are Indians, Modi or the fascists cannot push us out of our country. We Indians will all join hands to fight against the fascists”.

Congress leaders Vishwas Das, Appi and others were also present.
