Modi is Hero only with Hollow Slogans, Ground Reality is Zero – Gulam Nabi Azad
Udupi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led National Democratic Alliance government is only of Slogans and Publicity. PM has become a hero only with hollow slogans but the ground reality is zero said Opposition leader for Rajya Sabha Gulam Nabi Azad.
He was speaking at a press meet held at the District Congress Bhavan on May 9, he said that the BJP leaders had spoken of generating two crore employment opportunities every year, but the youth are actually losing jobs. He said farmers were promised minimum support price of 50 percent over the input cost. “The promises have proved to be false,” he said, adding that a large number of farmers commit suicide every year in the country.
He also said that the MGNREGA scheme launched by Congress led UPA-I was a unique scheme of its kind in the world, which had been recognized by the World Bank also as the biggest job source in the world.
Congress led UPA government laid emphasis on health, education, connectivity of villages and jobs. The Congress has always launched pro-people and development oriented schemes in the country .
The BJP has no moral right to comment on the Karnataka State government that had administered “scam-free governance” in the last five years, and had fulfilled a majority of the promises made in its election manifesto.
Modi’s government has failed to implement its promises of “Achey Din’ made with the people of the country. The poor, women and youths are disappointed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he did not fulfil the promises made to them during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, especially in connection to black money, price rise and employment.
“Prices of consumable items have skyrocketed. In respect to employment, Modi assured of creating two crore jobs every year. But according to figures of the Union labour department, this government has given 3.5 lakh jobs in the past three and a half years, he alleged.
Prime Minister Modi talks mostly about India’s growth, development, foreign affairs, trying to befriend many heads of other governments. And yet his government stumbles from one controversy to another. I feel that talking of growth is actually secondary; his primary responsibility as head of the government is to win the confidence of all sections of people, regions, and religions across the country. Unfortunately, the Prime Minister is not focused on that. He has either not understood the complexity or the country, or he doesn’t want to. The people of Karnataka who are aware of these facts have been supporting the Congress in the Assembly elections, he said.
Speaking about the Modi wave in Karnataka Gulam Nabi said there was no Narendra Modi wave in Karnataka and it was only a creation.
Gulam Nabi lauded the Congress leadership in Karnataka for framing schemes like Anna Bhagaya, Khsira Bhaga, free Education etc aimed at the welfare and development of the rural and urban areas besides taking special care of the SC/ST/minorities and other downtrodden sections.
District Congress president Janardhan Tonse, Congress leader M A Gafoor, Nagesh Udyavar, Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor and others were present.
