Modi’s visit: public entry to be banned at Dharmasthala temple

Ujire(Dakshina Kannada dist)/Kalaburagi: In the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting Dharmasthala on October 29, the entry of public inside the temple is banned from 2 pm on October 28 to 2 pm on October 29, reports DHNS from Ujire in Dakshina Kannada district.

Modi will arrive at Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala at 11 am on October 29 and have darshana of Lord Sri Manjunatheshwara at 11.40 am. Later, he will attend a programme organised by the Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) at Ujire at 12 noon. He will symbolically launch the distribution of RuPay Cards for Self-Help Group members, who were enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) through SKDRDP.

He will leave Dharmasthala at 1 pm to Mangalore airport.

Rly line inauguration

Modi will inaugurate the Kalaburagi-Bidar railway line at Bidar on October 29, said BJP state vice president and former minister Baburao Chavan.

He told reporters in Kalaburagi on Wednesday that Modi will flag off the inaugural train on Sunday at 4 pm. Chavan said the foundation for the project was laid during the previous NDA government in 2003 and incidentally, the party government now would be inaugurating the railway line. “It is an important contribution by the BJP to the Hyderabad Karnataka region.”

He said that the BJP government had provided 70% of the total funds for the completion of the railway project.

Chavan contended that there was no protocol violation as far as the BJP was concerned in not inviting the Gulbarga MP and former Railway Minister M Mallikarjun Kharge for the event. He said it was up to the railways to invite the MP.

He said the Congress government in the state had failed to ban liquor in the state and as a result scores of Dalit families in rural areas were suffering immensely.
