Mogaveers Rescue Youth from Drowning in Surathkal
Mangaluru: A youth was rescued from drowning by the Mogaveers at Guddekopla, Surathkal here on June 28.
According to sources, On June 28, a group of youth from Puttur had come to the beach at Guddekopla, Surathkal. The locals warned the youth not to venture in the sea as the sea was rough, but the youth did not give heed to their advice.
All the youth ventured into the sea, and while they were swimming, a large wave dragged one of them into the sea near the abandoned dredger. The youth somehow managed to catch hold of the dredger and screamed for help. When the fire service and the Karavali rescue team were unable to rescue the youth, the Mogaveer local youth Yadav Shriyan and Suman got into action and rescued the youth.
Yadav Shriyan later said that the youth did not give heed to their advice and ventured into the sea. This is not the right time for swimming in the sea as the sea is very rough during the rainy season. We should appreciate the efforts of Yadav and Suman for risking their lives to rescue the youth from drowning.
