Mohandas Shenoy Elected President of Kundapur Municipality, Vanitha Billava Vice President

Kundapur: Mohandas Shenoy (BJP) has been elected as the president and Vanitha S Billava (BJP) as the vice president of the Kundapur municipality for the second term of the council.

Shenoy secured 16 votes, defeating Chandrashekhar Karvi (Congress) with a margin of 8 votes. Billava won the vice president’s position, beating Kamala Manjunath Poojari, an independent candidate supported by Congress.

The election was held at the Dr. V.S. Acharya Sabha Bhavan, with Kundapur Tahsildar H.S. Shobhalakshmi as the election officer and Municipal Chief Officer Anand.

The newly elected president and vice-president were congratulated by MP Kota Srinivas Poojari, MLA A. Kiran Kumar Kodgi, BJP Mandal President Suresh Shetty, BJP Yuva Morcha District President Prithviraj Shetty Billadi, and prominent individuals Suresh Shetty Gopadi, Sudheer K.S, Vijay S Poojari, Sampath Kumar Shetty, and municipal council members.

Shenoy, a senior BJP member, has been elected president for the third time. He promised to prioritize the long-pending underground drainage project and work collaboratively with stakeholders and MLAs to benefit the public.

Shenoy expressed gratitude to voters and senior BJP leaders for the opportunity to serve as president again. He aims to set an example during the remaining term of the municipality.
