Mohit Suri takes pride in Shraddha’s success
Mumbai, March 3 (IANS) Filmmaker Mohit Suri says he feels overwhelmed after seeing the growth of actress Shraddha Kapoor in Bollywood.
He added that he shares “an everlasting bond” which is beyond work and more familial with Shraddha, who turned 30 on Friday. He has penned a special note for the daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kolhapure.
Shraddha started her Bollywood journey with films like “Teen Patti” and “Luv Ka The End”, but made it big only with Suri’s “Aashiqui 2”. She will also be seen in Suri’s next project “Half Girlfriend”.
The note was shared with IANS by the publicist of his forthcoming film “Half Girlfriend”.
It read: “Dear Shraddha, Looking at the journey that we’ve shared so far, we have created an everlasting bond that is now beyond work and more familial. Sometimes, I am so overwhelmed by the work you’re doing today. It’s amazing to see your growth from ‘Aashiqui 2’ to ‘Half Girlfriend’.”
Suri also stated that it is great to see her “finding your wings, learning to fly and leaving the nest. Along with the wings to fly, I hope that I’ve also given you the roots to depend on”.
“Our journey is far from complete but we are definitely on the right track kiddo! So, thank you for being a part of my journey as well,” he added.
He also has a message for the actress — “Keep following your heart and being you.” Suri has gifted her a stole with the name of her character in “Half Girlfriend” embroidered on it.
“Half Girlfriend” is locked for release on May 19.

Anushka takes a dig at Oscars Best Picture goof-up
Actress Anushka Sharma has reacted to the Best Picture fiasco at the 89th edition of Oscar in a funny way, claiming that she tried to avert the goof-up.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, the actress posted: “Yeh log mujhe sun nahin paye, main toh kab se Hindi mein keh rahi thi ki naam galat likha hai (These people couldn’t hear me only. I was telling them for a long time, in Hindi, that they got the name wrong.) Shashi was there.”
The post was part of a social media campaign called #ShashiWasHere to promote her forthcoming film “Phillauri” — in which she is essaying the role of a ghost, Shashi.
This year’s Oscars gala has drawn extensive coverage for a gaffe that saw presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway mistakenly naming “La La Land” as the Best Picture. The producers of the musical gave their acceptance speeches before learning “Moonlight” had actually won the honour. The awards gala was held in Los Angeles on February 26.

Alia collects tea from across the world: Varun
Actor Varun Dhawan says his “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” co-star Alia Bhatt has an obsession — to collect tea from across the world.
The actor talked about Alia’s this habit when they appeared in one of the episodes of the Zoom TV show “Yaar Mera Superstar Season 2” to promote their forthcoming film “Badrinath Ki Dulhania”, read a statement.
When the show’s host RJ Sangeeta asked Varun to name one thing that Alia loves to collect from all over the world except bags, shoes and lipsticks, he said tea.
“Alia collects tea from all over the world. And I don’t mean just green tea but all kinds of teas. She and her sister really like white tea. I have even gifted them white tea once,” he added. ,
Recalling an incident while shooting for the film, Varun said: “When we were in Singapore, her sister Shaheen was also there. All of us had gone out with a few other people but these two left in between, saying that they want to buy tea. I got so confused as to why do they want to buy tea in Singapore? Then we entered a proper tea shop with many kinds of teas. I got very fascinated. There’s also a proper tea bar. So, it was fun.”
The episode will go on air on Saturday.
