Moily and Rai Inaugurate modernized concrete Kadri Temple Road
Mangaluru: The former chief minister Veerappa Moily and district minister in-charge Ramanath Rai inaugurated the modernized and innovative concrete Kadri Temple Road at Mallikatta here on January 14.
Later the Swamiji of Kadali Math Nirmalnathji lit the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries. Corporator Ashok D K welcomed the gathering. Addressing the gathering Swamiji Nirmalnathji said, “In India, people are known by their religion and we have unity in diversity. But whenever there are events or any noble work we start our programmes with prayers which is our tradition and culture. Every human being, as well as the birds and animals, pray to God and they thank God for the grace they receive. Mangaluru is a holy land and people of Mangaluru are very lucky to have the Zhundi”. He congratulated the corporator for his special interest in concreting the temple road and inaugurating it on Sankranti.
MLA J R Lobo speaking on the occasion said, “Mangaluru is a fast developing city and tourists are attracted towards holy places here. In Mangaluru the Kadri Temple is one of the most visited and attractive places where devotees from in and around Mangaluru visit every day. It is the duty of the government to carry out the development work. With the efforts of corporator Ashok, Mayor Harinath and Dr A J Shetty we have concreted the road. To provide good facilities, we have concreted this road and today we have inaugurated it. The corporator of this area Ashok D K has taken special interest to concrete this road and within the given time he has completed his work and dedicated it to the devotees who visit the temple. The government has also sanctioned Rs 75 lakh for the development of the crematorium in Kadri. Under the leadership of Dr A J Shetty, we have formed a committee to develop the crematorium The tender is under process and we will carry out the crematorium development work as soon as possible. We have already developed the road approaching the crematorium. On both sides of the road, underground cables will be laid with the help of MESCOM. Kadri Temple is the crown to the city and if there are all facilities in the temple premises it will be of great help to the devotees who come to visit the Temple.”
In his inaugural address, Former Central minister and CM of Karnataka, Veerappa Moily said, “Kadri Temple is a holy place in the country and we need to provide all the facilities. Ashok D K even before becoming the corporator was taking a special interest in the development of the temple premises. Even during the widening of the road, there were many hurdles but Ashok has worked and has been successful in widening the road. While concreting the road we need a drainage system, electrical work, rainwater drain etc which has all been planned and executed. This concrete road is the first of its kind with all the provisions of underground drainage, electrical connection, telephone wires, water pipelines etc in place so that in the future there will not be any problems. In future, all the corporators should follow the same system in their respective wards. Mangaluru is the main city for the economy of Karnataka, we all need to make Mangaluru a Model city.”
Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza also spoke on the occasion. Chairman A J Shetty Hospital Dr A J Shetty delivered the presidential address. Sudhakar Pejavar compered the programme and delivered the vote of thanks.
Its just a waste of time and money, Mangalorean should be a model first by being modern in avoiding such old fashion of inauguration to gain name and fame. Every mangalorean know that it is just because of the MLA Lobo there are a lot of road construction happened in mangalore. I believe Lobo is working/wants to work beyond politics and religion where as all others are there for the credit.
