Moily, Rai behind Hemanath’s outburst against Poojary – VKS

Mangaluru: Congress leader Vijay Kumar Shetty held a press meet against former Puttur Block Congress president Kavu Hemanath Shetty, at the District Congress Office here, on June 9.

Addressing the mediapersons, Vijay Kumar Shetty said, “First of all, Kavu Hemanath Shetty is not an active member of the Congress. When an elephant walks, the actions of other animals do not affect it. Janardhan Poojary is a senior Congress leader and he has contributed a lot to the party.”

“When Kavu Hemanath Shetty had contested for the first time against Vinay Kumar Sorake, he aligned with a BJP candidate, and Sorake lost by 414 votes. Later, when Sankappa, Sudhakar Rai and Bondala Jagannath Shetty contested the elections from the Congress, Hemanath was not happy with it. He played behind their backs to defeat them. When Shakunthala Shetty contested, Hemanath was restless. He went to Poojary and tried to convince him to not give her the ticket. He tried his best to see that Shakunthala Shetty would lose the elections but did not succeed. Even recently when Hemanath’s wife contested for the Zilla Panchayat elections, he came to Poojary begging to give her a ticket. There are many persons behind Hemanath who had called for a press meet to defame Poojary,” alleged Vijay.

Vijay further said, “The statement given by Hemanath about Poojary has hurt Congress party workers. In a press meet, Kavu said that Poojary being a leader who had served as the country’s finance minister and earlier in the Indira Gandhi cabinet, was indiscriminately speaking against the party leaders, sitting right inside the party’s district office. He also questioned why the high command had not taken note of it and that if a person who had lost the Lok Sabha election five times had any moral right to contest again or lecture others. Kavu Hemanath had also warned Poojary to stay away from the Congress party and that if he did not, then black flags would be waved against him when he visited Puttur.”

“Who is Hemanath to criticize the defeat of Poojary? the people did not vote for him because some party leaders did not want Poojary to win the elections and had indirectly helped the opposition party win the Lok Sabha elections. Moily is directly responsible for the defeat of Poojary in the Lok Sabha elections. Now, the people are realizing their mistake by not voting Poojary. Who is Hemanath to wave black flags against Poojary? If he has the courage, let him wave black flags against DVS or Moily because they are the ones who initiated the Yettinahole project. If Poojary would have won the elections, he would have seen to it that the Yettinahole project was stopped. He is the only person capable of stopping the project because he has the capacity to convince the concerned officials and authorities to stop the project. If Hemanath Shetty criticizes me or comments against me, I will reveal all his hidden agenda,” Vijay warned.

When questioned on the persons supporting Hemanath to talk against Poojary, Vijay Kumar named the district minister in-charge Ramanath Rai, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Mayor Harinath, MUDA chairman Ibrahim Kodijal, BUDA Chairman Pius Rodrigues and Varghese.

Purushotham Chithrapur, Deepak Poojary, Lancelot Pinto, Appi and others were also present at the press meet.

With an average of six to eight press conferences by various factions of kaangress everyday, media doesn’t have to worry about news anymore !!!! Kurukshetra kaalaga within kaangress over power is the latest sign of how close it is to a complete death!!! Kaangress muktha bhaaratha would be a good thing.
