Moksh Murgai – A Rising Cricketing Star

It’s said, ”A dream does not become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.”

This definitely stands true for Moksh Murgai, an upcoming cricket star from Delhi. The 20-year-old young lad started playing the game at a tender age of 7 and since then hasn’t looked back. This right-handed batsman is a state-level professional cricketer who has represented Delhi in nationals in various categories including sub-junior, junior and senior. He has also played interzonal and zonal level cricket. He has also attended railways Ranji trophy and the under 23 camp. Moksh also represented India in a tournament in Lucknow 2018-19. He never misses a chance to showcase his talent by hitting boundaries and saving runs with his brisk movements over the field and taking wickets whenever given a chance. His will power, determination and passion towards the game are conspicuous in his tremendous performances and achievements.

The proficient cricketer is not only the captain of his college cricket team but has also been appointed as Sports President of Delhi University/DUSU. His exceptional cricketing techniques got him a sponsors/contract from SH Sports in 2019-2020. Moksh has more than 800 runs & 20+ wickets in DDCA League 2018-19. Moreover, 50+ half-centuries, along with more than 30 centuries in the domestic arena.

Moksh has completed his schooling from DLDAV Model School, Pitampura and hails from a middle-class family in Delhi. Currently, he is pursuing an undergraduate course from Delhi University. His family has always been his biggest support along with his coaches who have immense faith in his capabilities and dreams. He has been following a strict regime for years to keep himself mentally and physically strong. Waking up early morning, working hard on the fields, long practice sessions and ditching his favourite junk food have helped him maintain a sturdy mind and body. Even an unfortunate severe back injury couldn’t deter him from achieving his goals. He worked hard and successfully got back on the field within a couple of months.

Moksh is truly an inspiration for many who easily give up on their dreams for some or the other reason. Also, the young generation has a lot to learn from him as he is an epitome of ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way.’
