Moodbidri: Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology orgnaized a talk on “National Growth and Politics”, at the Rostrum auditorium, Speaker’s Club, Alva’s campus here on March 28.
The programme began with an invocation. The programme was inaugurated by the Economist, Harvard Professor and Chairman of Strategy Committee, BJP Dr Subramanian Swamy.
Addressing the gathering Dr Subramanian Swamy said, “National growth is balanced if politics is right. We need a Mental Revolution today as a part of national growth and politics.”
Urging the students to abandon the race for job, he asked them to think “How can I make India a Giant Economic Power?”
Substantiating his address to the youth, he commented that politics in India is dirty because it is not encouraged. He also asked the students to develop habits that are conducive to India’s growth.
The next half of the session was open for interaction and the students quizzed the Harvard Professor on burning issues of politics, crime and current affairs of the country.
Jagadish Shetty (National Secretary of BJP), Vivek Alva (Trustee, Alvas Education Foundation) and other dignitaries were present.
