More than 3 Lakh protesters had gathered for Protest meet at Adyar – Masood
Mangaluru: “The Protest meet at Adyar Kannur organized by DK and Udupi Muslim Central Committee was a huge success. We expected more than 1 lakh people for the protest meeting but it was a historic gathering beyond our expectations, more than 3 lakh people had gathered at Kannur. The mass protest against CAA, NRC and NPR was a huge success”, said the president of DK and Udupi Muslim Central Committee Mohammed Masood in a press meet held at Hotel Ocean Pearl here on January 18.
Addressing the mediapersons Masood said, “I would like to thank the people who gathered for the protest meet in large numbers. I would also like to thank the media from the district and the state for giving us wide publicity. No untoward incidents took place during the protest meeting.”
Masood further said, “The water bottles which were scattered on the road during the protest meeting were cleaned on the next day. Some people may have faced problems due to the huge crowd gathered for the protest meet at Kannur, we apologise for the same. Many have provided space to park the vehicles and cooperated with us. We would like to thank them whole-heartedly. We urge the media to continue their co-operation and support for our future programmes”.
The vice president of the committee Kodijal Ibrahim, Mumtaz Ali, Sayyed Ahmed, Mohammed Haneef, S M Rasheed, Kassim Ahmed H K and Mansoor Ahmed Azad were also present.
