Kundapur: A 34-year-old woman and her 10-year-old daughter were killed in a road mishap at Trasi here, on May 7.
The deceased have been identified as Saroja Ganiga (34) and her daughter Nischitha (11), residents of Sampigekodlu, Byndoor.
According to the police, Saroja was riding pillion along with her daughter, on her brother Vishwanath’s bike. They were on their way to Kundapur from Byndoor. As they reached Trasi, a tanker in a bid to overtake a bus collided head-on with Vishwanath’s bike killing Saroja and Nischitha on the spot. Vishwanath sustained injuries.
It is learnt that Saroja was waiting for a bus to take an ill Nischitha to the doctor. While Vishwanath was passing by, he saw Saroja and Nischitha waiting for the bus and took both of them on his bike to drop them at the hospital.
A case has been registered in the Gangolli police station.
