Moving Car Catches Fire on Busy Road at Brahmavar

Udupi: A moving Hyundai i20 car mysteriously caught fire on NH66 at Bhadragiri in Brahmavar Police Station limits on Friday, June 8 night.

On seeing smoke coming out of the bonnet, car owner Karthik, who is a resident of Kundapur, stopped the vehicle on the side of the road and immediately got out of it.

Speaking about the incident, Karthik said, “When I was on my way to Kundapur along with my wife. I noticed smoke coming out of the bonnet and decided to stop the vehicle to inspect the engine. But before I could do anything, the fire had intensified. I immediately stopped the vehicle on the side of the road, got out of the car along with my wife and called the fire department,” he said.

The Fire service from Udupi rushed the spot and doused the fire. It is suspected that a short circuit in the electrical system might have caused the fire.

The car has been completely damaged in the fire. Traffic on the highway was blocked for some time. The Brahmavar Police arrived at the spot and cleared the traffic.
