MP Nalin appeals to Minister of Road Transport for upgradation of SH and Development of NH in DK

New Delhi: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel called on the Union Minister for Transport, Nitin Gadkari at the Transport Bhavan here on Aug 3.

MP Nalin urged the Union Minister for declaring the State Highways as National Highways in Dakshina Kannada District under the National Highway Act, 1956 and for the up-gradation of the highway connecting BC Road (NH-48) to Mulki (NH-66) via Polali-Kateel-Kinnigoli in DK District as a National Highway (with a total length of 48.10 km).

He also appealed for initiation of necessary steps to include the following projects in either the additional Annual plan or non plan 2015-16 of the Ministry (MORTH) for the National Highways in the DK District.

Improvement to Riding Quality (IRQP) to NH 13 for the year 2015-16, providing 75 MM thick Bitumen Macadam (BM) and 40 MM thick Bitumen Concrete (BC) from KM 664.00 to KM 671.00 in the Sholapur-Mangaluru Section at an estimated cost of Rs. 800.00 lakhs.

IRQP to NH 13 for the year 2015-16, providing 75 MM thick BM and 40 MM thick BC from KM 725.00 to KM 743.90 in the Sholapur-Mangaluru Section at an estimated cost of Rs 1700.00 lakhs.

Periodic Renewal (PR) to NH 243 for the year 2015-16, providing 30 MM thick BC from KM 31.00 to KM 41.00 in Mangaluru-Villupurum Section at an estimated cost of Rs 400.00 lakhs.

PR to NH 48 for the year 2015 -16, providing 30 MM thick BC from KM 286.00 to KM 309.00 in Bengaluru-Mangaluru Section at an estimated cost of Rs 900.00 lakhs.

PR to NH 48 for the year 2015-16, providing 30 MM thick BC from KM 263.00 to KM 286.00 in Bengaluru-Mangaluru Section at an estimated cost of Rs 1050.00 lakhs.

PR to NH 13 for the Year 2015-16 – Providing 30 MM thick BC from KM 705.00 to KM 725.00 in Sholapur-Mangaluru Section at an estimated cost of Rs 700.00 lakhs.

Good thought by Mr.Kateel. If this plan gets approval then most of the vehicles can bypass Mangalore reducing the congestion at Nanthoor .
