MPL Cricket Tournament Season-4 Jersey released, Trophy unveiled
Mangaluru: The Trophy unveiling, Jersey releasing and Team Launching programme of the eagerly awaited Mangalore Premier League Cricket Tournament Season – 4 was held at the City Centre, here on March 18.
The MPL Cricket tournament is Jointly organized by the Brand Vision Events, Mangalore Occasionals and Sea Bird Cricket Academy with the approval and guidance of Karnataka State Cricket Association. Yashpal Suvarna, President, Fisheries Federation unveiled the Trophy and conveyed his good wishes for the success of the tournament.
The first match of the MPL will be held at 9.00 a.m on 20th March between Coastal Digest and Bedra Bulls, the MPL champions of previous two years. The second match will be held at 2.00 p.m between the teams Classic Bantwal and United Ullal. After the opening ceremony, Karkala Gladiators and Team Elegant will be playing the third match under the floodlit. The tournament will be held from 20th March to April 1st on league cum knock out basis.
The Opening ceremony of the tournament will be held on 20th March, Tuesday at 5.30 p.m. at B.R.Ambedkar Cricket Stadium, Panambur, Mangalore. Ex Indian Cricket Star Venkatesh Prasad will inaugurate the tournament in a colourful ceremony. Ex Indian Cricketers Raghuram Bhat and Srishanth will also join hands with Venkatesh Prasad to open the Mega Cricket Event. Roshan De Silva and Milinda Siriwardana International Cricket players from Srilanka will be taking part in the ceremony as intercontinental guests. Dev Whatmore, ex Cricketer of Australia will join the MPL cricket fest a few days later.
Shasidhar Kodical, Mohammed Sirajuddin, Balkrishna Parkala, Imthiaz Ahammed were present in the function.
