MSW students Hold Waste Management Awareness Rally
Mangaluru: The MSW Students of Roshni Nilaya in association with other educational institutions held a programme on “Awareness on waste management” at Bolar here on October 28.
The awareness on waste management programme began with a rally. The rally was flagged off by the Associate professor of the school of Social work, Roshni Nilaya Prof Vineetha Rai.
Addressing the students Prof Vineetha Rai said, “Managing waste is our prime responsibility which starts from our own houses. If we keep our house clean and neglect the surrounding it will affect our health. If we need to lead a healthy life, we need to keep our surrounding clean including our house.”
Prof Vineetha further said, “The waste should be segregated in a right manner by separating the wet and dry waste. We should keep two dustbins at home to separate the dry and wet waste. It is our duty to hand over the waste after segregating it.”
Later Prof Vineetha demonstrated the different kinds of waste such as plastic, cloth, sanitary pads, medicine etc and the category of segregation.
The president of Anti Pollution Drive Abdul Rehman, students from various schools and programme coordinators were also present.
