Mudarangadi GP president files defamation case against Joel, Flavia for spreading Roumers against him
Udupi: The third additional civil judge and JMFC court Udupi has ordered the Shirva police to file an FIR against Joel Mathais of Kutyar and Flavia Mathias of Pilar for allegedly spreading rumours and defaming Mudarangadi gram panchayat president David D’Souza on social media.
In a private complaint filed by David D’Souza who is the Grama Panchayat president of Mudarangadi it has been alleged that Joel Mathias and Flavia Mathias are defaming him and his son Doyson D’Souza in connection with the suicide case of Fr Mahesh D’Souza principal of Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva.
He has further alleged that both the accused have been continuously spreading rumours about the suicide case of Fr Mahesh D’Souza principal of Don Bosco English Medium School Shirva and have tarnished their image in the Social media. Such posts have created panic in the society and are misleading the people. Such posts are likely to induce the general public to commit crimes. He has demanded the concerned authorities to take action against Joel and Flavia.
The court received the complaint and ordered the Shirva Police to file an FIR against Joel Mathais of Kutyar and Flavia Mathias of Pilar
As per the direction of the Court, the Shirva police have registered an FIR under section 506, 507 (1) (b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
