Mumbai: Metro based Billawa Jagruti Balaga Mumbai celebrated the 161th birth anniversary of Sri Narayana Guru at Kanji Kesti Wadi, Fort here, on 30 August.
N T Poojary, president of the Balaga, presided over the function. Ashok Suvarna, Sadananda A Kotian and Yashawant N Poojary were present.
The guests on the dais felicitated Suresh S Suvarna, principal of Kannada Bhavan Jr College.
Babu Shiva Poojary, spoke about Shri Narayana Guru. Harish Poojary presented a brief report of the Balaga.
Corporator Ganesh Sanap, Raghunath Kunder, Vice Presidents Suresh Poojary and D B Amin, Founder President Sooru Karkera, Ladies Wing Chairperson Sharada Karkera, Purushottam Kotian, Padmanabha Poojary, J M Kotian and other members of the Balaga were present.
J M Kotian compered the programme. Chitrapu K M Kotian introduced the guests. Padmanabha S Poojary delivered the vote of thanks. A puja was performed under the guidance of Purohit M J Pravin Bhat.
