Mumbai: Well-known journalist Dinesh Shetty Renjala has been awarded a doctorate for his thesis about Kannada journalism, “Mumbai Patrikodhyama Ondu Samskrutika Adhyayana”. The award was presented by Dr Ashok Alva, Professor of MGM College, Udupi, in the presence of Dr G N Upadhyaya (Head of Kannada department, University of Mumbai), journalists of Mumbai metro and other prominent personalities.
The programme was held at the Mumbai University Kalina campus.
In his speech, Dr Ashok Alva said there is a mini-Karnataka inside the city of Mumbai. Under the guidance of Dr G N Upadhyaya, Dinesh Shetty Renjala has put all his efforts to bring out the 400 page thesis containing the history of 150 years of Kannada journalism in Mumbai.
Later, Dinesh Shetty Renjala presented a brief report of his thesis. Dr G N Upadhyaya was felicitated.
