Mumbai: Muhurat of Konkani Stage Play ‘Nirmellem Chukana’ held

Mumbai: Muhurat of “Nirmellem Chukana”, a Konkani stage play written by Joseph DSouza Borivali was held recently at St Louis School premises, Dahisar.

Well known Konkani actors and writers were present. After the success of “ESTHEL KONNACHI VOKOL” Joseph D’Souza has come out with one more comedy stage play. The programme began with a brief prayer by Leo Cutinho. He also advised prayer should be recited before every practice during drama session. He also insisted without God’s grace and blessings one cannot achieve anything in life.

Sangeet Samrat Henry D’Souza was the Chief Guest of the event. Experienced and most senior actor William Machado will be the director of the stage play and songs will be composed by well- known and upcoming composer Charles D’Cunha (Borivali). Joseph D’souza in his speech mentioned the diminishing demand for Konkani stage play. He also explained various reasons for it.

Henry D’Souza in his speech appreciated Joseph D’souza’s earlier stage and wished all the success. William Machado told the crowd how he met Joseph D’Souza and the struggle to stage his earlier stage. He also recalled how he and Joseph D’Souza made “ESTHEL KONACHI VHOKOL” super hit with new and upcoming actors.

 

Special bouquet was given to Jennifer D’Souza who is debut heroine of this stage. George Sequeira, Hilda D’Souza and Cyril Monis read out one scene of Nirmellem Chukana.

On behalf of Joseph D’Souza, Cyril Monis delivered the vote of thanks and compered the programme.

The first show of Nirmellem Chukana will be staged at the end of January 2016, at Borivali. Following are the actors selected for Nirmellem Chukana: George Sequeira, Hilda D’Souza, Pangla, Cyril Monis, Pangla-Borivali, Henry D’Souza, Jennifer D’Souza (Debutant), Ronald D’Costa, Florine Mathias, Romeo Lobo and Ida Pereira.
