Mumbai: Thiya Samaj Holds 73 Annual Meet, Felicitates Achievers

Mumbai: The 71st Annual meeting of Thiya Samaj was held on August 23, under the presidentship of Chandrashekar Belchada.

Addressing the members, president Chandrashekar said that without considering the circumstances and objections, a real social worker will continue to do social work. “So let us come together and without wasting time work for the welfare of the our society.” He also highlighted some of the achievements of the Samaj since the last several years. Further, he said that because of the local committees, more and more members are attending Thiya Samaj activities. “It is very much essential to give more support to the local committees to make them more active,” he said. He requested the people of the Samaj to increase the number of members in addition to helping Thiya Belaku monthly, education fund and health fund.

Mayuri Suresh Bangera, who scored highest marks in SSC among the South Indians in Maharashtra, was felicitated along with Rohan Palan, who scored highest marks in the 12th std, and other merit holders.

Award winning film actress Nisha Bangera and educationist Divija Chandrashekar spoke on the occasion and urged the youth of the community to exhibit their talents, come forward and take active part to strengthen the Samaj activities.

Trustee Shankar Salian, Vishwanath UK, Suresh Bangera, Prabhakar K, Shridhar Suvarna, Babu Belchada, T Babu Bangera, T Sunder and Jishant Salian also spoke on the occasion.

Chairman of the Trust Rohidas Bangera, Ladies wing chairpersons Divya Kotian and Ujwala Chandrashekar, Timmappa Bangera, Gangadhar Kalladi and other office bearers were also present.

 

General secretary of the Samaj, Ail Babu presented the annual report. Treasurer Ramesh Ullal presented the annual statement of accounts. President Chandrashekar Belchada welcomed the gathering and Vishwanath UK delivered the vote of thanks.
