Mumbai: The Thiya Welfare Association distributed financial aid to deserving students of the community on 5th July, 2015 during a programme held at Virar under the presidentship of Govind Manjeshwar, Thiya Welfare Association.
In his presidential speech, addressing the students and the parents, Govind said that for the growth of the community, it is very essential to educate children. “It seems that the girls of our community are more educated than the boys. To maintain equality in education, the boys of our community should also come forward like girls and maintain equality in education.”
Former president Roopesh Rao, Vice presidents Satyawathi Palan, Yadav Rao, R K Suvarna, Lazar Kotiyan, Kannappa Bademar, Cultural committee chairperson Chandrawati Vasant, Sashiprabha Bangera, Jaya Suvarna, Naveen Ira and other members of the committee were also present.
General Secretary, Sita Salian compered the programme and also delivered the vote of thanks.
