Mumbai: Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust Organizes Yakshagana

Mumbai: The Mumbai Samiti of Mangaluru based Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust organized ‘Maishaada’, a Yakshagana play, at the Radhabhai T Bhandary Auditorium, Buntara Bhavana, Kurla (E) here, on 15 November.

The stage programme was presided by Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, president of Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust, Mumbai Samiti. Addressing the audience, Karnire Vishwanath Shetty said that Yakshagana, a prominent and historical art of coastal Karnataka, is still alive due to the hard work of Yakshagana artists, and therefore, it is necessary to support the artists. He also said that the trust, which was founded by Satish Shetty, is going to have its branch in not only other parts of India but also in the UK, USA and Dubai.

Chief guest Jaya C Suvarna, president of Billawa Maha Mandala, said that all people of the Tulu and Kannada communities should help and support Yakshagana artists.

Industrialist K D Shetty, ACP Prakash Bhandary, president of the trust Aikala Harish Shetty, Kadandale Suresh Bhandary and Kairabettu Vishwanath Bhat spoke during this occasion.

Vice presidents of Mumbai Samiti Ermal Harish Shetty, Ratnakar Shetty, Mundkur, Ravindranath Bhandary, Indrali Diwakar Shetty, treasurer Pravin B Shetty, Aikala Ganesh Shetty and Ashok Shetty, Ashok Pakkala from Mangalore were also present on dais.
