Muscat Mogaveers Koota Holds Family Get-together ‘Beat the Heat’
Muscat: The members of the Muscat Mogaveers Koota (MMK) celebrated yet another family get-together with much pomp and fun, at the Crystal Suites Auditorium recently.
The MMK committee carefully crafted the various programmes to keep the members entertained and spellbound throughout the evening.
At the outset, Divya Karthik melodiously rendered a prayer song invoking God’s blessings for the success of the programme. Vice president of MMK, Prakash Naik kicked off the programme by welcoming the members and giving an overview of MMK’s activities. Thereafter, the first time attendees were introduced to the members. Naik also mentioned about the financial assistance of Rs 50,000 given by MMK to Miss Beena back in Mangaluru for her medical treatment and rehabilitation.
Senior member of MMK Advisory Committee, Shashi Puthran in his speech wished all the members a great evening, and also requested everyone to extend their full co-operation for the unity of Mogaveeras and to continue supporting MMK’s future activities, be it sports, entertainment, education or charity.
MMK players had displayed an outstanding performance in the recently concluded Kudla Cup Sports Event. In order to commemorate their achievement, the captains and team members of all MMK teams were felicitated by Shashi Puthran. MMK players brought great laurels by winning 6 out of 7 sports events, emerging as the overall Champions of the Tournament. The commendable achievement of MMK players was applauded by all the members. MMK’s Sports Co-ordinator, Vishwanath Bangera neatly conducted the proceedings of the felicitation programme. He congratulated and thanked all the players, coaches, volunteers and sponsors for their whole-hearted support and for their astounding victory.
Newly wedded couple from the community – Divya and Karthik, Rahul and Devika were felicitated on the occasion with floral bouquets. They received blessings for their happy married life from Dr Devdas Shriyan and Sudha Devdas Shriyan and Mr and Mrs. Shankar Kotian respectively. Also, in celebration of their birthdays, Roshan Lokesh Kunder and Veena Suresh were invited on stage. To mark the joint celebration, a cake cutting ceremony was held.
There was a cultural programme that was hosted by Rashmi very eloquently in her unique style and flair. The guest invitee, Raj Sanil was the DJ of the evening, and along with him Ashok Kotian, Divya Karthik and Prakash Naik presented some nostalgic songs from old movies in Hindi, Kannada and Tulu. The audience enjoyed the soothing music rendered so smoothly.
Many creative classic and fusion dances were presented, which kept every enthusiast in full spirit. The star performers were: Kashvi Loknath and Sushmita Shesh for “Afghan Jalebi and Phantom” choreographed by Asha Hemant; Anchal and Aashi Naveen Kotian for “Mayya Yashodha” choreographed by Sumana Naveen; Solo Dance Fusion choreographed and performed by Mithil Ravi Kanchan; Sohan Girish, Harshil Padmakar, Jeeval Padmakar & Niketan Pushparaj for “Tukur Tukur” from Dilwale choreographed by Hetal Patel and coordinated by Sahana Girish; and, Vandana Padmakar, Heema Ryle, Roopa Umesh and Ruchika Dhananjay for “Pinga” from Bajirao Mastani choreographed by Heema Ryle and coordinated by Roopa Umesh.
The guest choreographers, Hetal Patel and Asha Hemant, were duly felicitated as a gesture of appreciation for their fantastic choreography. All the participants were rewarded with beautiful gifts for their marvelous performances.
Suresh Kunder and Ramanand Kunder made a brief presentation on the Silver Jubilee Souvenir. Several indoor games were conducted separately for children, women, couples, bachelors and open-to-all with the efficient co-ordination of Dhananjay Mendon, Shesh Kanchan and Vishwanath Bangera. At the end of the programme, the winners of the games and dance performers were given their respective winning prizes/gifts by some of the community sponsors, guests and committee members.
Shesh Kanchan delivered the vote of thanks. The entire programme was conceived and well coordinated by the MMK committee. The committee expressed its genuine gratitude to the guests who attended the event with family despite other commitments and busy schedules. The committee also appreciated the collaboration, support and assistance of the evenings’ well-wishers and sponsors, and acknowledged and applauded the support, commitment and dedication of all its members and volunteers who worked hard to organize an event of this magnitude.
