Muslims had agreed to offer Namaz once a week in Ram Mandir in Ayodhya – Pejawar Swamiji

Udupi: “Decades ago a negotiation was held on the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya allowing Muslims to offer Namaz once a week in the Mandir, why then am I targetted for organizing the Iftar get-together in Sri Krishna Math. Muslims had agreed for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. My talks on the construction of Ram Mandir have failed, the Swamiji”, said Pejawar Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji.

“I had organised the Iftar get-together outside the Krishna Math, at the dining complex. The Sangh Parivar has not expressed any dissatisfaction or satisfaction for organizing the Iftar programme. My relations with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad have been not affected because of this issue. If Muslims pray it cannot affect Hindus”.

“I will not comment on any statements of SRS founder Pramod Muthalik. Hindus also consume beef and I am aware of it, but would not name anyone”, he added.

As the Iftar programme organised at the Krishna Math has started a fresh controversy, Muthalik has remained firm on his stand by giving a call for protest, the Swamiji has also  firm on his stand saying that he has followed his Dharma by organizing the Iftar Get-together.
