‘My Beat My Pride’ Helped to Trace Accused absconding for 30 Years

Mangaluru: After the Beat policing was strengthened with the launch of “My beat My Pride” on August 16 by Police commissioner Dr Harsha, there have been many positive developments in the maintenance of Law and Order in the commissionerate.

Today, September 5, the Beat policing helped to trace the accused who was absconding for the past thirty years in an assault case.

According to the police, On November 22, 1989, Fakir Beary was assaulted by Mohammed and Shekabba at Kukkuda Katte and a case was registered in the Ullal Police station under section 341, 324, and 34 IPC. Since then the accused Shekabba was absconding without appearing before the court.

The beat Head constable Suresh from Ullal Station who was on beat duty at Belaringe Kinya was given the responsibility to collect information about the accused from the beat members. Accordingly, the necessary information was collected and accused Shekabba was arrested by the Ullal police on September 5.

Under the direction of Police commissioner Dr Harsha, DCP law and order Arunagshu, DCP Crime and Traffic Lakshmi Ganesh and ACP Kodandaram, and under the guidance of Police Inspector of Ullal Gopi Krishna and PSI Gurappakanti the operation was carried out by the Beat Head Constable Suresh, Dinesh, Devendra and Sunitha.

Shekabba was arrested and produced before the court.
