Mysuru: Centenarian Gautamamma (102) from Doddalattur near Hanur in Kollegal taluk of Chamarajanagar district, after having failed to get any development works sanctioned for her village, determined to take a big leap herself by contesting the recent panchayat election.
And she won with a comfortable margin since the people simply adored her. Her supporters had planned to place her in the saddle of the president. However, when they proposed, the rotational reservation system seems to have disposed
According to the reservations announced now, she did not qualify to the president since the post is reserved for a scheduled category. She belongs to the backward classes category.
But not being disappointed, her supporters are planning to make her the vice president of the same panchayat.
