Nadoja G Shanker Inaugurates Malpe Branch of Mahalaxmi Co-operative Bank
Udupi: The newly renovated, fully air-conditioned Malpe Branch of Mahalaxmi Co-operative Bank Ltd was inaugurated at Yeluru Mogaveera Bhavan Malpe on Saturday June 22.
Nadoja Dr G Shanker (promoter of G Shanker Family Trust Ambalapadi, Udupi) inaugurated the Renovated Branch.
In his inaugural message Dr G Shanker said, “The success of any financial institution is assured, when it succeeds in winning over a customer’s loyalty and provides efficient services. The banking services extended to weaker sections of the society to improve their economic conditions, would also increase the customers portfolio, which in turn bring profits to the financial institutions. Mahalaxmi Co-Operative Bank has carved out a niche for itself because of the foresight and ambitions of its founders and all those who led the Bank since many years.”
The bank’s Chairman Yashpal Suvarna, in his introductory remarks, said that the bank aims to provide quality services to its valued customers. The customers’ satisfaction brings happiness to the bank authorities, he noted. The Bank has eight branches across the DK District. The ninth branch will be open on August 15 at Surathkal. The bank has taken a decision to provide zero percent interest loans for the fishermen and fisherwoman community due to their self employment he said.
“The bank is getting good profits since its establishment. We have declared good amount of dividend to our customers. In the upcoming days, we are extending our business and new branches will be opened soon in other parts of Uttar Kannada district,” he said.
On the occasion, Rs. 1.5 Crore loans were distributed to the fishermen and fisherwoman groups at zero percent interest for the purposes of their self employment.
Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat presided over the function.
