Nalin Kumar Kateel Laziest MP now Claiming all Development work as His Own – Ramanath Rai
Mangaluru: “When the Congress government was in power in Karnataka, we had given priority for the development work. In five years of our tenure, major development works have been carried out all over the state including Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. Our tenure is a golden era for development. But now when the elections are nearing our MP is claiming that all the development work was done by him. When our government was in power in the centre, all the major development works were implemented and the MP is now taking credit even for all that work. He is even blaming me, Abhaychandra Jain and Moideen Bava for the delay in Mangaluru – Karkala Highway work. He is now aware that we had taken the people into confidence in the Mangaluru – Karkala Highway work. We had held a number of meetings in regard to the highway work and MP Nalin had not even attended a single meeting even though he was invited. Since he is now aware of the Highway work being done, he is trying to take the credit by calling press meets and claiming that he has done everything. Nalin Kumar Kateel is the laziest MP and does not even know the meaning of the Dollar”, said the former District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai in a press meet held at the DCC office Mallikatta here on July 2.
Addressing the mediapersons Ramanath Rai said, “While putting the allegations on me, Jain and Bava, MP Nalin Kumar conveniently left out Karkala MLA for the delay in Mangaluru – Karkala highway work. Three meetings were held on the land encroachment issue for the road widening and the people had agreed for it. We completed all the process in this regard and the work will be started. When Oscar Fernandes was the Surface Transport minister he had initiated and started the work to upgrade the roads. MP Nalin did not attend any of the meetings in regard to the Mangaluru – Karkala highway work but now he has been accusing us for the delay of the road work.”
Ramanath Rai further said, “Now since the work of the Lady Goschen hospital has also completed, MP Nalin called a press meet to inform the media about it. When BJP government was in power in Karnataka Yogish Bhat had brought a sponsor from Chennai to upgrade the Lady Goschen hospital but it did not happen. Later when Veerappa Moily was the Petroleum Minister, he approached MRPL to provide CSR funds for the construction of Lady Goschen hospital. When the construction was going on, one of the contractors left the contract and the work was delayed. To continue the work I requested one more contractor and he has completed the work. Now MP Nalin wants to take the credit for the Lady Goschen hospital work too and is acting like he was responsible and had done all the work.”
Mayor Bhakar K, Former Mayor Sashidhar Hegde, Corporators Naveen D’Souza, Pratibha Kulai and Ashok D K, Mamatha Gatti, Sahul Hameed and others were also present.
