Natalia Cordova-Buckley joins ‘Coco’ team
Los Angeles, Oct 25 (IANS) Actress Natalia Cordova-Buckley, popular for her character in the “Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D”, will be giving the voice of legendary Mexican artist Frida Kahlo in the English language version of animated film “Coco”.
The film, with voice talent Benjamin Bratt, Gael Garcia Bernal, Edward James Olmos and Anthony Gonzalez, follows the life of Miguel, who through a mysterious and other worldly chain of events, meets charming trickster Héctor (Bernal), and together they set off on an adventure of music and mystery, resulting in the most unusual family reunion, reports deadline.com.
Cordova-Buckley confirmed the news by taking to social media to celebrate being able to bring an iconic artist like Kahlo to life on the big screen.
“Honoured to be part of ‘Coco’. Magic is giving voice to the woman who taught you the power behind your own. #FridaKahlo,” she tweeted.
The Disney-Pixar film is co-directed by Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina. It screened at the Morelia Film Festival in Mexico and will release on November 22.
