Nat’l Seminar on ‘Consumer Protection-Issues and Challenges’ at St Aloysius,Feb 16-17

Mangaluru: Faculty of Commerce, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru in collaboration with Centre for Consumer Studies (CCS), Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi will organize a Two-Days National Seminar on Consumer Protection – Issues and Challenges on February 16 – 17, 2018 in the College Campus.

Dr. Ravindranath Shanbagh, President, Human Rights Protection Foundation, Udupi will be the Chief Guest and deliver the key note address. Dr. Suresh Misra, Professor and Chairman, CCS, IIPA, New Delhi will be the Guest of Honour and will be the resource person for two sessions – Consumer Protection and Empowerment, and Misleading Advertisements and Consumer. Dr Sapna Chadah, Faculty of Constitutional and Administrative law, CCS, IIPA will speak on Medical Services and Consumer and Legal Framework in respect of Consumer Protection. Nikesh Shetty, Advocate will dwell on issues relating to Financial Services and Consumer.

There will be a session on e-Commerce,Cyber Security and Consumer by Shri SavitraTeja from the City Cyber Crime Police Station, Mangaluru. A session on Food Safety and Consumer will be engaged by Nagesh Pai, former President, Canara Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Mangaluru.

The Seminar is meant for teachers, students, researchers, goods and service providers, trainers and NGOs. About 250 participants are expected to attend and nearly 80 papers will be presented during the Seminar. The Seminar is sponsored by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer of Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India.
