Natural Resources Management, Orientation Program held at Panela Village
Mangaluru: CODP in collaboration with CEI and Laudato Si Committee of Mangalore diocese jointly organized an orientation programme and dialogue with the residents of Panela, on the issue of Natural Resources Management, on 26 November 2019, at Panela Government School Fajir Mangalore.
The resource person from CARITAS India Dr Haridas gave input on Natural Resources Management and tips for healthy living.
He explained how natural resources like Air, Water, and Soil, etc are wasted and polluted. He explained how the modern food habits and lifestyle of people cause dangers to life. The Ozone layer is affected due to air pollution; in the City like Delhi, people are not getting proper Oxygen to breathe. People are consuming vegetables, fruits and other products filled with pesticides and chemicals. As a result, hospitals are mushrooming, the life span has reduced and sickness is increasing day by day.
After the input and dialogue, the action plan is made to manage Natural Resources in Panela area.
Fajeer Panchayath President Seetharam Shetty, Fajeer Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) Dr Smrithi, Fajer Church Parish Priest Fr Sunil Veigas, Laudato Si Convener Fr Richard D’Souza, CODP Director Fr Oswald Monteiro Designated Director of CODP Fr Vincent D’Souza, Panchayath members- Precilla Jyothi, Shafi, Geetha and Florine were present on the dais.
