We need Protection Not permission to Hold Mangaluru Chalo Bike Rally – MLA Arvind Limbavali

Mangaluru: “We need protection to hold Mangaluru Chalo Bike rally, we did not ask permission from anyone. More than 1000 bikes will take part in the rally and more than 5000 people will hold the padayatra on September 7 at 11:00 am from Ambedkar Circle Jyothi which will culminate at the DC office”, said the MLA of Mahadevapura Bengaluru Urban Arvind Limbavali in a press meet held at the BJP office here on September 6.

Addressing the mediapersons Arvind said, “The Siddaramaiah government has imposed an undeclared emergency in Karnataka. The government is misusing the police to stop us from holding the Mangaluru Chalo bike rally in Mangaluru. On September 5, the police seized 4188 bikes, arrested and threatened 6947 participants of the Mangluru Chalo rally. On September 5, Jagadish Shettar was arrested in Hubballi and Eshwarappa was arrested in Shivamogga. But on September 7, even if we don’t get permission from the police, at any cost we will hold the Mangaluru Chalo bike rally in Mangaluru”.

Arvind further said, “On September 7, we will hold bike rally and Padayatra from Jyothi and it will culminate at DC Office. Later we will gherao the DC office. BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa will preside over the rally and all state leaders will attend the Mangaluru Chalo rally. We do not want permission to hold the rally but we want protection from the police. As we know Karnataka police are very good and they will provide us protection.”

Condemning the murder of Gauri Lankesh, Arvind said, “We condemn the brutal murder of Senior journalist and Social activist Gauri Lankesh. In the Kalburgi murder case, the accused are still not arrested. The law and order situation in this state has completely failed. These cases should be handed over to the CBI. The government is not taking any action against those who kill the leftists or rightists or even if any farmer commits suicide. In the state, we have witnessed 24 murders of right-wing activists. Even in the DySP Ganapathi case, the supreme court has ordered the government to hand over the case to the CBI. There are allegations that the evidence has been destroyed with the government’s involvement”.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Krishna J Palemar, Sanjeeva Matandoor, Harish Punja, Monappa Bhandary, Capt Brijesh Chowta and others were also present.
