New Delhi, Nov 17 (IANS) Calling the deadly attacks in Paris “extremely unfortunate”, internationally acclaimed Indian designer Rahul Mishra, who has been closely associated with the fashion capital, is among the 20 designers who will meet French ambassador François Richier soon. He says it’s an act to show that the world is together in condemning terrorism.
He said that the meeting will take place soon in support of the victims of the Paris terror attacks.
“Being involved with Paris Fashion Week, I also got the opportunity to meet the ambassador during a luxury summit when France was one of the partnering countries. We have to show that the entire world is together. What happened in Paris is extremely unfortunate,” Mishra, who presented an installation from his Paris Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2016 collection as part of Amazon India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2016 last month at the French embassy, told IANS.
“Anywhere, anything like this (a terror attack) is something to which we need to show solidarity to. But Paris being the fashion capital of the world, it’s more closer to art. It’s a moment of grief for France and the entire world.
“That is one of the reasons why Fashion Design Council of India president Sunil Sethi has put together all of us. We should be together and show solidarity,” he added.
According to reports, some of the popular Indian designers will join forces for the initiative.
