Nethaji Club Clinches KSCA Trophy
Mangaluru: Nethaji Sports Club, Parkala secured the KSCA trophy by defeating Canara Youth Council Team of Mangalore with the margin of 19 runs in the III division tournament organized by Mangalore Division (consisting of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Kodagu Districts) of Karnataka State Cricket Association.
In the final match held at NITK ground Surathkal, Nethaji Sports club scored 294 for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. The highlight of the match was 110 runs opening partnership between Balakrishna Parkala and Achuth Bhat and the brilliant knock of Nagarjuna who scored 70 not out. Shariq, Irfan, Akthar, Zaheer and Sakshad claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Canara Youth Council played a fight back innings. However, the brilliant bowling of Nagaraja (35 for 5 wickets) wrecked down the innings at 275 runs in 42 overs. Thus Nethaji Sports Club registered a 19 run victory and lifted the KSCA Trophy.
