New Delhi: Former Press Council of India chairperson Justice (retired) Markandey Katju is known for his frequent statements and Twitter posts which have raised quite a bit of dust in the recent past.

He had once said that 90% Indians were idiots, being gullible and easily swayed by religious influences.

In his latest tweet, he has said, “I am a Hindu, and I have eaten beef, and will again eat it. There is nothing wrong in beef eating. 90% of the world eats beef. Are they all sinners? And I refuse to believe that cow is sacred or our mother. How can an animal be a mother of a human being? That is why I say 90% Indians are idiots. Mr Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi included.”

The post is likely to attract both likes and dislikes in large numbers.

Why so much fuss about beef. Nepal, which is also a Hindu majority country, all the Hindus eat beef and it is legal.

There are no problems there. Why is it so in our country?

Dear readers,

Only the ilk of RSS and its hardcore followers have two ‘Mathas’.If ‘Gomath’ is also their mother, what about their own biological mother who kept her in womb and nursed?

Are they going to write ‘Gomath’ against their mother name in the forms, when Hindu scripture openly advocate of beef eating?
