New Faces to get Tickets for Assembly Elections – AICC General Secretary in Charge K C Venugopal
Udupi: New faces will be given tickets for the upcoming assembly elections said AICC General Secretary In-charge Karnataka K C Venugopal. He was speaking to the media persons after visiting Pejawar Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji at the Sri Krishna Math here on July 8.
Addressing the mediapersons Venugopal said, “The proposition for finalising the candidates will be decided, but new faces will be seen in the assembly elections. The Cabinet reshuffle is left to the discretion of the Chief Minister and he will take a call on it”.
Venugopal further said, “We are in the process of revamping the Congress, the convention held at Adyar Mangaluru has alerted the peoples representatives to boost the party from the booth to the state level. Development will be the agenda for the upcoming assembly polls. The government led by CM Siddaramaiah has promoted the welfare of the state. The government has reached out to the poor and has also been vital in promoting social development”.
Venugopal also said, “The law and order situation is effective in the state, the recent communal tension in Kalladka is an attempt to polarize the votes. Swamiji has given a good message to the society by organizing the Iftar party while Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not held the Iftar from 3 years. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee used to host the Iftar, he added.
KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar, District Minister In-chargePramod Madhwaraj , MLA Kaup Vinay Kumar Sorake, Congress Leader Harish Kini, Vishwas Ameen, Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje, Janardhan Bhandarkar and others were present.
