New traffic rules: Drunk Bike Rider fined Rs 10000 in Malpe under MV Act
Udupi: After the new traffic rules came in to effect under the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, several cases of Bike riders paying hefty fines are being reported from different parts of Udupi District.
In the Malpe police station limits on Saturday, September 7, a student who was found drunk and riding the motorbike was fined Rs 10,000/-. The police issued the challan to the student to pay the fine through the court.
According to the police, the student was found to be allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. The student’s family members visited the police station and paid the fine.
