NIA should Investigate Dec 19 Incidents in Mangaluru – Sharan Pumpwell
Mangaluru: We have seen protesters wearing masks in Kashmir, they destroy everything, attack the police, pelt stones and set police stations on fire but on December 19, this has occurred in Mangaluru. This is a danger sign and there are people who have a connection with the terrorists. We have seen on television that the protesters with masks were pelting stones and assaulting the police. We have also heard that protesters had come from Kerala. We demand the central government to hand over the case to NIA to find out who is behind such acts. The VHP and Bajrang Dal strongly condemn these acts.”, said the Convenor of Bajrang Dal Sharan Pumpwell in a press meet held at Sanghaniketan here on December 24.
Addressing the mediapersons Sharan Pumpwell said, “After the incident political leaders came to Mangaluru and visited the deceased families. But they never visited the police who were injured in the incidents. The politicians are only worried about a particular community which the VHP and BD condemn.”
Sharan further said, “We are seeing the police getting life threats from around the world. Those who are giving life threats to the police should be punished. We want to know who started the violence and who is behind this. The national officers are in Mangaluru, we will bring this issue to their notice”.
Addressing the mediapersons VHP Working president Prof M B Puranik said, “The media has played a vital role during the incidents. The journalists are now getting life threats. We have concern towards the deceased and injured, at the same time we are also concerned about the police personnel who have been injured in the incidents. Political leaders are not mentioning anything about the injured police which proves that they are only for vote bank politics. We want peace and harmony in the country but the opposition leaders do not want this. They are opposing the bill which the VHP condemns. Some people from Kerala posing as journalists came to Mangaluru. We need to know who they are and why did they come here. To find out such fake journalists from Kerala we demand an NIA investigation in this case. “
