Nigerian Citizen Deported for Overstay
Udupi: The Manipal Police have deported a Nigerian who was overstaying in the country on May 19.
According to SP Laxman Nimbargi, Uyu Nsa Jery Davies, a Nigerian and former student of Vaikunta Baliga Law College had arrived in Manipal on June 26, 2011.
However, after her visa expired, instead of leaving the country, she continued staying in Manipal without applying at the Foreigners Registration Office.
She was arrested on charges of violating the visa and passport rules and regulations and staying without authorization in the country. She was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody until May 11.
On May 19 under the direction of SP Dr Laxman Nimbargi, the Manipal police deported Uyu Nsa Jery Davies from Mumbai Airport to her country.
