Nigerian Citizen Deported for Overstay
Udupi: The Manipal Police have deported a Nigerian who was overstaying in the country on Thursday, November 2.
According to SP Dr Sanjeev M Patil, Raji Raqeeb Babatunde a Nigerian aged 26 years, former student Master of Occupational therapy at Manipal School of allied sciences had arrived in Manipal on August 24, 2011.
However, after his visa expired. Instead of leaving the country, he continued staying in Manipal without applying at the Foreigners Registration Office.
He was arrested on charges of violating the visa and passport rules and regulations and staying without authorization in the country. He was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody until October 30. On November 2 under the direction of SP Dr Sanjeev M Patil, the Manipal police deported Raji Raqeeb Babatunde from Mumbai Airport to his country.
