Mumbai, March 17 (IANS) In an amalgamation of fashion and beauty, designer Nikhil Thampi has associated with cosmetic giant Lakme Salon to present ‘Illuminate’ collection at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer-Resort 2016 on April 1.
The show will be a conceptual presentation of avant-garde hair and make-up in true dramatic style, and a dark room concept aimed to illuminate a never-seen-before presentation, read a statement from the organisers of the gala.
This collaboration between promises to present a co-curated show, where the Lakme Salon’s Shailesh Moolya and Sushma Khan, will bring forth a showcasing of hair and make-up inspired by the sky, galaxy and space while Thampi tries to address the gap between reality and the infinite universe through his collection, titled ‘Quantum’.
“Always keeping the strength of a woman at the forefront, this collection also comprises of an array of powerful silhouettes with the aim to showcase a new take to pret wear. The use of unique metal links to connected slashed patterns and fabrics almost as stairway to heaven, in analogous to the ‘connection’ between reality and the cosmos,” said the designer.
The five-day fashion extravaganza will start here on March 30.
