NKA Kuwait Celebrates Feast of the Assumption and I-day
Kuwait: It was a great day of celebration for the Executive Board and members of North Kanara Association – Kuwait (NKA-K) who gathered together once again as one family on August 15, to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption as well as the Independence Day of India.
The Eucharistic celebration was offered by the Association at St Therese Church, Salmiya, at 6:30pm and thereafter a huge crowd gathered at the residence of the President John Fernandes for a get together which consisted of families and bachelors from other religions as well. The Holy Rosary was recited led by Ashu Rodrigues.
Fr Antony Lopez, OFM Cap., JCD., Eccl. Judge & Chancellor who graciously attended the function, delivered an inspiring talk to the audience after the prayers, Ashu Rodrigues gave an introductory talk and spoke on the purpose of the celebration. The President thanked the members for their contribution in various ways.
A game of Housie was conducted by Raymond Rego, Diago Borges, and Ashu Rodrigues. Several prizes were distributed to the winners by Fr Anthony Lopez.
The National Anthem of our Mother Country India was sung by all members to commemorate the Independence Day. The huge crowd which attended consisted of families and especially the bachelors who part took in the celebrations as one big family which was noteworthy.
