Al Ain: Parents of premature babies and their families joined doctors and staff from NMC Healthcare to celebrate the successful care of over 300 babies at NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Ain’s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
More than 200 people attended the celebration on Saturday, July 30 at the Danat Al Ain Resort Hotel, which also marked two years since the opening of the Level III Neonatal ICU unit at the NMC Specialty Hospital in Al Ain – the only private hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi which can accept premature babies as young as 23 weeks.
Babies born this premature can often weigh as low as 400 grams and would almost always require the most advanced and modern care.
Dr B R Shetty, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of NMC Healthcare and his wife, Dr C R Shetty, Group Medical Director attended the event and spoke about NMC’s commitment to continue providing the most advanced care across its portfolio of hospitals.
“This achievement reaffirms our promise to continue being the market leader in providing healthcare services that have positive and life-changing impact on our communities in the UAE.”, stated Dr B R Shetty.
Families whose babies had been cared for at the hospital shared their stories and thanked the doctors who saved their children.
“We are extremely thankful for such comforting and reassuring doctors and nurses who provided us with the much-needed peace of mind when it came to the health and development of our baby,” said a proud father.
Doctors and neonatologists spoke about the type of care offered at the facility and shared their experiences of caring for babies in the most critical conditions.
“Our core approach is to provide excellence in care with a family-centric mindset. We often encourage parents to get involved as they play a pivotal role in the development of their babies,” said Dr Anil Pillai, Deputy Medical Director and Consultant Neonatologist.
