No BJP’s Role in stay of JNURM Buses – Raghupati Bhat
Udupi: “The High Court stay on JNURM buses has exposed the double standards of Minister Pramod Madhwaraj”, alleged former MLA K Raghupati Bhat. He was speaking to the media persons at the party office. Bhat said that 90% private bus operators are from the Congress party but Pramod Madhwaraj instead of pacifying his party activists is blaming the Bharatiya Janata Party which has not played any role in the stay of JNURM buses.
Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes and Moodibidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain along with the private bus owners had led a delegation to the Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy not to allow the movement of JNURM buses in the district. Minister Pramod Madhwaraj instead of questioning his own leaders from the Congress party is putting the blame on the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Private buses have effectively served the masses, KSRTC needs to cooperate on the timing issues. The district administration should be blamed since the buses have to adapt to the timings. The stay has been ordered by the High Court. The Minister in-charge district should be blamed for the mess in the timing issue and not the Bharatiya Janata Party. While it is a disgrace that the Congress party is holding protest even after knowing the reason for the stay on JNURM buses, he added.
When Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde was questioned about Suresh Naik a BJP leader being the president of Private Bus Operators Association, he said that it is his profession, but BJP is in support of JNURM buses and it should not create problems for the private buses as it will affect the livelihood many, he added.
